Hurricane Harvey – Disaster Relief
As we learn more about the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey that has left so much of Houston, Texas in ruins, our hearts are filled with compassion, and we know that many of you are wondering how we can help.
Here is what you can do . . .
1) PRAY
Join us in praying for the people affected most by the devastating hurricane and flooding. Please also pray for the many volunteers from all over the country who are providing in-person assistance, and pray for favorable weather conditions while the recovery and relief efforts continue.
2) GIVE
Click the donate button to give online now! We are partnering with South Drive Baptist Church and it’s pastor, Kent Wilson in Channelview, Texas. They are strategically located just east of Houston and have converted their gym into a disaster relief coordination center. Right now, they are housing members of the Cajun Navy, feeding fire fighters and other rescue teams, and acting as a relief distribution center for the community. We are sending financial resources directly to this local church so that our donations can be used in the areas of greatest need without any money being withheld for administrative costs.

Since I have started going to church again, I’m starting to realize that through it all God has been there reach his hand out to me. But I wasn’t ready at that particular time in my life to take his hand. Since March 27, 2016 I have been reunited with God and on Sunday May 29, 2016 I will be Baptized! I feel the grace of God and the glory of his love! God knew when I would reunite with him and he has since then put a lot of amazing people in my life! I’m learning and growing in the grace of God and with the major extension of family I got now, I know that I am on the right path. The ladies that teach my son on Sunday have opened my son’s mind and heart to God. I hope and pray that my son continues and grows with the grace of god. That no matter what he will be proud and stand tall and never ever be ashamed to say I am a Christian and I trust and believe in God. It has taken me a long time to stand tall and proud to be a Christian without the fear of someone judging me based upon my belief and trust in God. I’m truly blessed that God has pointed me in the direction of were he wanted me to be! I didn’t choose the church, the church choose me!

The title of the message is “Taming the Family Zoo”. You have to come Sunday to discover what animal you are and how to get along with the rest of the animals in the zoo. It’s gonna be fun! To all of you Christ Followers who have not been scripturally baptized since you professed faith in Christ, your first step of obedience is to follow the Lord in baptism. Baptism does not save you, but it is a sign to others that you have been saved. Our next BBQ & Baptism is May 29th at the Home of Mike and Joanne Droz. Please bring a change of clothes and a towel if you are planning to be baptized.

Tomorrow night, we will feast on the World’s Biggest and Best Buffet at our church starting at 6:15. You will never forgive yourself if you miss the Mother of All Buffets at our International Dinner! Not only that, you will miss your only opportunity to meet a real live missionary family to Madagascar! How cool is that! And yes, Madagascar is a real country off the coast of Africa. See you there, and bring your appetite! 🙂
